CRCB is committed to foster transparency and access to public information.
The importance and benefits of governmental transparency, open government, and digital governance have been widely discussed. The disclosure of public data is an important goal supported by international organizations, governmental partnerships, and global civil society organizations (Open Government Partnership, European Commission, The World Bank, and OECD).
Based on the expectations of OECD digital openness and transparency will enable 1) greater trust in government, 2) social well-being and inclusive policy outcomes, and 3) economic growth. Consequently, OECD urges governments to increase availability of evidence and data concerning their operations, processes and results and recommends to promote public engagement in using these data.
As stated in the rules and principles of the European Commission (“Transparent procedure for all”), publishing information about the beneficiaries of EU funding is mandatory. Therefore, following the above-described recommendations, practices, rules, CRCB publishes the publicly available data of EU funds allocated to Hungary to be used for statistical analysis to improve the efficiency of EU Funds. The CRCB’s dataset contains the same pieces of information and fields (variables) available in the official Project Finder Application, but CRCB has created a dataset that includes all projects’ records using a search engine developed by CRCB itself. Thus, the CRCB’s dataset contains data of all projects in an ordered format suitable for statistical analysis.
